Currently, PMI requires three years of project management experience if you have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent to qualify for your professional designation. If you don’t have a bachelor’s degree, you’ll need five years of project management experience.
If you don’t have any experience, our advice is to start with the CAPM.
There’s no reason that you can’t start the modules now as you work on getting on-the-job experience. In fact, we think this is the smartest way to do it because you can apply what you’re learning every day at work.
Even before you receive your PMP certification, you can enhance your career as you add new skills with each new module so there’s no reason to hold back.
